Engine, battery and motor combined-hybrid models: five models are available as of Oct 2011.

As for "Eco-car Genzei (Tax break for eco-friendly car)," automobiles that are registered through March 31st, 2012 are exempted from Automobile Acquisition Tax and automobiles that are registered through April 30th, 2012 are exempted from Automobile Weight Tax. Automobiles that are registered through March 31st are exempted from Automobile Tax for the following year of purchase due to green taxation plan.

Registration of Prius alpha is expected to be after April 2012 and thus may not be eligible for the tax break. Please visit Toyota Motor Corporation's website for more information on vehicle delivery of Prius PHV (Plug-in Hybrid), Prius alpha, Prius and Aqua.

Not only Hybrid vehicles! Good news for eco-friendly cars!!

A preferential measure has been applied on Japanese tax system for purchases of eco-friendly cars. Automobile Weight Tax and Automobile Acquisition Tax are applicable to this big tax relief. Depending on the level of environmental performance, eco-friendly car owners will receive either100%, 75% and 50% tax cut.
